It looks like the machine is unlocked, so they are really free!
Seeing this machine is so nostalgic. It’s even a bottle machine. I can’t remember the last time I saw a machine with a bottle opener. Does it have a bottle rack standing up next to it? When I was in high school, there was a machine just like this and somehow we discovered that if you held down the bottom right button, the machine would continue to vend sodas for as long as you wanted (or it emptied the stack). It wasn’t diet Coke like on this machine though, it was grape soda. It was repaired after a couple weeks.

There are cans in it and yes it’s unlocked. It’s doesnt work so everyone just opens the front, drips the money in the bin and pulls out what they want.
